About Us

Hampton Roads Urban Agriculture is a non profit organization that is committed to reducing food insecurity within the Hampton Roads area, through urban farming, educational programming, and by creating a sustainable food system. We manage community gardens that are utilized to train veterans and community members in growing their own food or starting a small scale  farm. We offer programs around healthy eating, over 80% of the food grown in the garden is given away to those in need. We are working to launch our Drones in Agriculture program  for at-risk youth as a way to expose them to careers in agriculture, STEM, coding, healthy eating as well as our youth farmers market entrepreneurship  program. Hampton Roads Urban Agriculture is committed to combating food insecurity in our marginalized communities beyond just handouts,  we want to  create a resilient community that will grow from generation to generation.
